Over the years my work has evolved into what I perceive as photographic art. With my Pentax 35mm or my Nikon digital camera I photograph traditional subject matter. I then apply non-traditional techniques either in the darkroom or at my computer. Recently I have been concentrating on the digital medium because it affords me a tremendous amount of versatility in creating multi-layered, complex photo-montages. With Photoshop CS6 I can merge photos, enhance texture, create depth, and add unique color effects through the use of layers, filters, and blending modes. Whether combining two layers or many, however, I never set rules. In fact, I often find myself abandoning a preconceived idea as my work evolves and takes off into a totally different direction. My ultimate goal is to create art which intrigues and draws the viewer in for a closer look.
